What is Papain Enzyme?

Papaya extract is derived from the milk of ripe papaya fruit, and the main active ingredient is papain. Papain is a kind of proteolytic enzyme, which has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, strong activity, good stability, and strong protein hydrolysis ability. It has been widely used in the cosmetics industry. Papain has a peeling effect on the stratum corneum, accelerates the movement of pigment from the basal cell layer to the stratum corneum, and reduces pigmentation. Therefore, it has a good exfoliating effect and has a huge market application prospect in the cosmetics industry.

Functions of Papain in Papaya

1. Papain is a useful digestive enzyme that can help the stomach better break down protein and promote nutrient absorption.

2. It dissolves fat and softens the skin. Additionally, it helps remove dead cells and keeps skin healthy. That's why this enzyme is widely used in beauty products.

3. It has anti-inflammatory effect, can soothe the stomach and reduce edema.

5. Its uses also include the treatment of swelling and abrasions, and can suppress swelling and fever after surgery.

6. Papain can relieve different food allergies, especially the most effective for problems caused by indigestion of food protein.

7. The amino acids in papain can help reduce irritable bowel syndrome symptoms by preventing acid reflux.

9, a good immune stimulant, helps to strengthen the immune system.

10. As a proteolytic enzyme, papain can also help with intestinal parasites. In addition, it has the function of breaking down food protein.

Applications of Organic Papain

1. Used in pharmaceutical industry applications.

2. It is used in the food industry to hydrolyze animal and vegetable proteins.

3. Beauty cosmetics industry, can be made into slimming tea, beauty skin care products, etc.

4. The daily chemical industry is used for soap, soap, detergent, washing powder, hand sanitizer, etc.

5. The feed industry is used for feed additives.

6. Leather industry application: use papain to make depilatory agent, tanning leather, with fine pores and bright skin texture.

7. Textile industry application, can be used for degumming of wool and silkworm chrysalis.

Instructions

1.The pH range of papain that can catalyze the reaction is 5-9, and the optimum pH range is 5-7.

2.Papain had a certain activity between 30-90 ℃, and the papain activity reached the highest at 80 ℃, indicating that the enzyme was insensitive to temperature and had the characteristics of high temperature resistance.

3.Heavy metal ions (Fe3+, Cu2+, Hg+, Pb+, etc.) are easy to combine with the enzyme activity center of papain and affect the enzyme activity, so the chelating agent EDTA-2Na needs to be added to the formula.

4.Cosmetic formulations containing free sulfur will inactivate papain.

5.Strong oxidants such as hydrogen peroxide will inhibit papain activity and affect the use effect.
