What Is Haematococcus Pluvialis Extract?

Haematococcus pluvialis extract It is derived from a red shell attached to shallow water bays, from which a haematococcus pluvialis extract that is good for the skin is extracted. This substance can achieve a good antioxidant effect, avoid skin dullness caused by skin oxidation, it can repair damaged skin tissue, and make our skin cells healthier and fuller, so Haematococcus pluvialis extract , it is an effective substance that can be added to skin care products to improve skin problems. This substance has relatively good stability.

What Is the source of Haematococcus extract haematococcus pluvialis algae extract?

Algae species: Haematococcus pluvialis (produce astaxanthin, up to 5% of dry cell weight)

Belonging to: Chlorophyta, Chlorophyta, Volvox, Haematococceae, Haematococcus

Attribute: eukaryote

Shape and size: round, oval, plow-shaped (double flagella, flagella are lost when the growth environment is not suitable), cell diameter 5~50μm (note: the cell size of Haematococcus pluvialis is very different between the green cell stage and the red cell stage)

Growth mode: photoautotrophic, polytrophic, heterotrophic (fermentation)

Temperature: The suitable temperature is 20~30℃.

Light intensity: Green cell growth stage: the suitable light intensity is about 40~100μmol/m2/s. Astaxanthin-induced accumulation stage: 200-500μmol/m2/s. (Note: The appropriate light intensity is related to temperature, and there are differences between algae species from different sources)

pH: 7.0-8.0 is suitable.

The life cycle of Haematococcus pluvialis is relatively complicated, and it has different cell shapes under different environmental conditions. When the growth environment is more

suitable (sufficient nutrition, suitable temperature and light, etc.), the algal cells exist as green swimming cells ( There are two flagella, Figure A), when the environmental conditions become poor, the algal cells lose their flagella and become green immobile cells (Figure B), when the environmental conditions continue to deteriorate, astaxanthin accumulates in the algal cells toward the iminetospores transformation (Panel C), and finally into iminetospores containing a large amount of astaxanthin (Panel D). However, when the external environmental conditions become better, that is, when the external environment is suitable for the growth of algal cells, the iminetospores (Figure D) will turn into green swimming cells (Figure A).

In the green cell stage, algal cells can undergo mitosis and reproduce 2 to 32 daughter cells. In addition, when iminetospores are suddenly transferred from extreme environmental conditions to very comfortable environmental conditions, gametogenesis occurs, that is, multiple gametes are produced within the iminetospores, up to 64, and then the gametes rupture and release Gametes (microspores, microzooids, less than 10 μm in diameter), the microspores grow into zoospores. Sexual reproduction in Haematococcus pluvialis is rare.

Haematococcus Pluvialis Astaxantina

Haematococcus pluvialis is the organism with the most abundant astaxanthin content in nature. A large number of studies have shown that the accumulation rate and total production of astaxanthin in Haematococcus pluvialis are higher than those of other green algae, and its astaxanthin content can reach 3.0% of dry weight, or even higher, known as the "natural astaxanthin". Concentrated products", and the ratio of astaxanthin and its esters contained in Haematococcus pluvialis (about 70% monoester, 25% diester and 5% monomer) is extremely high in proportion to the aquaculture animal itself. Similarly, this is an advantage that astaxanthin extracted through chemical synthesis and using Phaffia rhodozyme, etc. does not have.

In addition, the structure of astaxanthin in Haematococcus pluvialis is mainly 3S-3'S type left-handed structure, which is basically consistent with the structure of astaxanthin in aquatic products such as salmon. It is the best biological source of natural astaxanthin and has antioxidant properties. Its ability to scavenge free radicals is 6000 times that of vitamin C, 110 times that of β-carotene, 1800 times that of lycopene, 800 times that of lutein, and 320 times that of tea polyphenols. Times, with high nutritional and medicinal value, has also become a research hotspot in the international production of natural astaxanthin in recent years.

Application of Haematococcus Pluvialls Extract Astaxantina Supplement

1. Cosmetics

Due to its strong antioxidant properties, almost the first-line cosmetics brands in the world have added Haematococcus pluvialis extract as their super antioxidant ingredients, including Estee Lauder, L’Oreal’s DermaE, especially the Japanese brands KOSE (KOSE), Fangkai (FancL), JUJU, FUJI, DHC and Mentholadon have launched a series of special Haematococcus pluvialis extract products. As long as you see those red or orange cosmetics that claim to be anti-oxidant and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, they all add substances such as Haematococcus pluvialis extract.

2. Health products

Health care products companies around the world have also launched more than 200 types of health foods including soft and hard capsules and oral liquids of Haematococcus pluvialis extract. Especially the most popular health product in the United States, Haematococcus pluvialis extract has become the most popular health product in the United States in the past three years. Southeast Asia including South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore are deeply influenced by it. Some enterprises in my country have also followed up one after another. At present, the "Red A Asda" astaxanthin product produced by Yunnan Green A Company has obtained the certification of health care products.

3. Feed

The extract of Haematococcus pluvialis is bright red and has strong pigmentation ability. As a functional pigment, the absorption and accumulation of Haematococcus pluvialis extract by fish and poultry is better than other carotenoids such as Canthaxanthin, lutein and zeaxanthin are much more effective.

Therefore, the extract of Haematococcus pluvialis is also mainly used in the feed industry, and can be used as a feed additive for abalone, sturgeon, salmon, rainbow trout, red sea bream, crustaceans, ornamental fish, various poultry, and pigs. have:

1. The ability to resist oxidation and eliminate free radicals is stronger than that of β-carotenoids, which can promote the production of antibodies and enhance the immune function of animals.

2. British MAG veterinary experts have pointed out in many years of research that adding 15mg/kg of Haematococcus pluvialis extract to red and brown-red dogs can improve hair color and increase its ornamental value.

Development status in the world about  Haematococcus Pluvialls Astaxantina Extract

Compared with spirulina, chlorella and other microalgae commonly used by humans for health care, Haematococcus pluvialis has a more amazing antioxidant effect, and also has more difficult breeding and preservation techniques, so only a few companies have mastered it.

The production of astaxanthin generally favors the development of biological (plant) sources of natural astaxanthin and thus large-scale production. Companies capable of commercially cultivating Haematococcus pluvialis to produce natural astaxanthin are gradually emerging. International representatives are: Cyanotech of the United States, Fuji Chemical of Japan, and Algatech of Israel.

In China, Yunnan Green A is the third company in the world to break through the industrialization barrier of Haematococcus pluvialis, breaking the 10-year technological monopoly of the United States and Japan, obtaining 6 independent invention patents through its leading products, and establishing a Raw material cultivation, process extraction, content determination and product standards, etc., a complete product control system has become the industry benchmark and is also in a leading position in the world.
