Senna leaf, which is synonymous with Tanna leaf, Xiyeye, and Soak bamboo leaf, originates from the small leaves of legume Senna angustifolia or Senna acuminate. The English name FOLIUM SENNAE, stimulates intestinal peristalsis through intestinal mucosa and nerves.
1. Antibacterial effect: The 10% senna leaf extract has obvious inhibitory effect on Escherichia coli, Proteus, Shigella, Streptococcus A and S. albicans.
2. Hemostatic effect: After oral administration, senna powder can increase platelets and fibrinogen, shorten the coagulation time, recalcification time, thromboplastin time and blood clot contraction time, and help to stop bleeding.
3. Effects on the digestive system: Senna can prevent the damage of high-dose indomethacin to the gastric mucosa, probably because it can antagonize the latter's inhibitory effect on gastric mucosal cyclooxygenase (PG synthase).
4. Muscle relaxation and antispasmodic effect: Senna has a curare-like effect, which can block acetylcholine at the motor nerve endings and skeletal muscles, thereby causing muscle relaxation. Certain hydroxyanthraquinones in senna leaf have a certain antispasmodic effect.
5. Other effects: The seeds of senna auricularia can reduce fasting blood sugar in dogs, and the whole herb also contains cardiac glycosides.
Used in health care products and other fields.
As a laxative, take 100-150mg at bedtime.

The leaves of the narrow-leaf senna are picked before flowering, dried in the shade, graded according to the size and quality of the leaves, and packed with pressure. When the fruit is ripe, the branches of senna cuspidatum are cut off, the leaves are picked, dried in the sun, and packaged separately according to the intact leaves and broken leaves. The raw medicinal materials of senna leaf are crushed into coarse powder, add water to extract at 70~8Chemicalbook0℃, separate the extract, put it in a centrifugal thin-film evaporator to concentrate (below 45℃) to about 10 Baume (heat test), and the concentration process should not exceed 2 hours, the temperature can not exceed 60 ℃, spray drying. The product produced by this process contains about 3% sennoside, and the yield is about 10%.
